How we manage our land and buildings
Lands and buildings are a major resource for ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø (SCC). The efficient and effective use of this resource is vital in achieving the council's strategic aims and objectives.
Properties owned by ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø are the responsibility of Land and Property. Their management and maintenance depend on the type of property. An "operational" building provides a SCC service, such as a Library or Fire Station, whereas a "non-operational" property is generally residential accommodation or land. Schools, for the most part, manage and maintain their own property matters.
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø currently uses a consultant and a number of contractors, from an approved list, to manage day-to-day maintenance of these assets.
When purchasing land, check ownership of the land with . If the land is owned by SCC, call the Contact Centre on 03456 009 009 for further details.
