There are a number of countryside management partnerships in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø involving many different partners, neighbouring districts and boroughs and various conservation organisations.
They all broadly have the same objective: to maintain and sustainably enhance our green spaces for future generations and for bio-diversity.
ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Countryside Partnerships team
The ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Countryside Partnerships team is an established countryside management partnership service, working with the vital support of volunteers, with and within local communities, across ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and neighbouring areas of South London.
The Team comprises:
- Downlands Partnership - works predominately on rare chalk grassland sites across northeast ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and into Croydon and Sutton, including the provision of a conservation grazing service.
- Lower Mole Partnership - works in woodlands and on commons and to improve public access across north ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and into Kingston.
- ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Heathland Partnership - helps to manage rare lowland heathland sites in Guildford and Woking, centred around Pirbright.
Other countryside conservation partnerships in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø
- manages the canal on behalf of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and Hampshire County Councils.
- works with Sussex Wildlife Trust to protect countryside near Gatwick Airport.
- works along the River Blackwater bordering Hampshire around Farnborough, Aldershot and Farnham.
- looks after farmland, woodland and water extending northwards from Staines into Buckinghamshire.
- aims to protect the River Thames around Kew, Hampton Court and Weybridge.
- works to protect heathland sites and their wildlife in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, Hampshire and Berkshire.
