Safer travel team – promoting safe and active journeys
The Safer Travel Team provides essential road safety support for children and adults across ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. From managing School Crossing Patrols to delivering award-winning walking and cycling training, our work enhances children's safety, health, and independence.
Cycling instructor – empower young cyclists
Cycling Instructors, use their empathy and engagement skills to help learners take the big step of cycling on the road with traffic. They always work alongside at least one other Instructor, providing mutual support. Understanding and supporting learners' situations and feelings are key to helping them progress.
Walking instructor – teaching road safety
Walking Instructors make a difference for primary school-age children, by encouraging them to feel more confident walking to school and equipping them with the necessary road safety knowledge and awareness skills. Their role is to lead training sessions with small groups of school children, both in the classroom and on the roads.

School crossing patrol officer – a hero in the community
A School Crossing Patrol Officer’s role is to manage the crossing points outside of Schools. Our School Crossing Patrol Officers require a combination of professional skills to manage the traffic, and personal skills to deal with children, drivers, parents and teachers. Our staff are dedicated, valued members of their community. No matter what the weather they represent one of the friendliest faces in public service.
